Meta’s AI Paradox
Meta just did what might be the most Meta thing ever: cut 600 jobs from its AI team while simultaneously going all-in on building superintelligence.
Talk about mixed signals...
CEO Mark Zuckerberg decided his existing AI efforts weren't cutting it anymore—too bureaucratic, not enough breakthroughs. So he's trimming the fat while pouring resources into the newly formed TBD Lab, which he's betting will crack the code on superintelligence.
Here's what's happening:
Meta is cutting roughly 600 positions from its several-thousand-person superintelligence lab, hitting FAIR AI research, product-related AI, and AI infrastructure units.
The company formed TBD Lab just months ago after investing $15 billion in Scale AI and hiring its CEO Alexandr Wang as Meta's Chief AI Officer.
While laying people off, Meta is still actively recruiting for TBD Lab, recently snagging OpenAI research scientist Ananya Kumar and Thinking Machines co-founder Andrew Tulloch.
So What?
This is classic Silicon Valley pivot: break things, rebuild faster. Zuckerberg grew concerned that his AI teams had become bloated and weren't delivering the breakthroughs needed to compete with OpenAI and Google. Rather than slowly reform, he's doing a hard reset—cutting legacy teams while betting big on a leaner, more aggressive approach to AGI.
The move shows how serious the race to superintelligence has become. Companies aren't just competing, but instead, they're reshaping their entire organizations to win.
🧠 You're here because you get it. AI isn’t optional anymore…
But here's the thing - knowing about AI and actually building with it are two very different things.
Most people are stuck in consumption mode. They read, they watch, they follow... but they're not becoming more productive, saving time, or making more money with it.
Our learning platform changes that:
100+ actionable lessons designed to build, not just learn

Start Vibe Coding in Google AI Studio
Earlier this week, Google directly rolled out vibe coding in Google AI Studio - and it’s been super fun to work with.
Here's how to get started:
Head over to Google AI Studio and sign in with your Google account.
In the main prompt area, describe the app you want to build. For example: "Create a startup name generator app. It needs a text box where I can enter an industry, and a button. When I click the button, it shows a list of 10 creative names."
Hit run and watch the magic happen. AI Studio generates the code and shows you a live preview of your app on the right side of the screen.
Want to make changes? Just chat with it. Try: "Make the background dark gray and use bright green for the title and button to give it a techy feel."
Happy with your creation? Click "Deploy to Cloud Run" to publish your app to a public URL instantly.
🔥 Power User Tip: This is perfect for rapid prototyping and proof-of-concept work. You can iterate on ideas in minutes instead of hours.

OpenAI Joins the Browser Wars with Atlas
OpenAI just dropped Atlas, and it's about to change how you work with AI forever.
Atlas is OpenAI's new research-focused web interface that goes way beyond basic chatting. Think of it as ChatGPT's overachieving sibling, it can search the web, analyze documents, write code, and pull everything together into comprehensive research reports. It's like having a PhD researcher on standby, minus the student debt.
What makes Atlas different:
Atlas combines web search, document analysis, and code execution in one seamless interface, letting you conduct deep research without switching between multiple tools.
It can process and synthesize information from multiple sources simultaneously, creating detailed reports with proper citations and analysis.
The system includes advanced prompt engineering features, letting you set specific research parameters, tone, and output formats—perfect for academic work, business analysis, or technical documentation.
So What?
OpenAI is clearly making a play (and has been for a while) for the web search market. While ChatGPT is great for casual use, Atlas is built for serious knowledge work.
The timing is interesting too. With Perplexity stepping on necks with Comet and Google pushing more AI features in Chrome, OpenAI needed something to differentiate itself beyond just "we were first." Atlas might be that differentiator. It's taking AI from conversation to actual work output, and that's where the real money is.
You can download and start using it here! It’s currently rolling out first for MacOS.
